Ayurveda originated in India over 5,000 years ago. This sister science to yoga, Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word meaning "life science". It's a natural, timeless system designed to maintain the quality and longevity of life. Ayurveda is for anyone who wishes to lead a natural lifestyle designed to balance the mind, body and spirit.
Combining the "life science" of Ayurveda with yoga which means "to yoke", results in an integrated, therapeutic and individualized approach to health, joy and vitality. It was created by Dr. Lad, the founder of the Ayurvedic Institute.
Classes are taught by Suzy Smola, a RYT 500, E-RYT200, YACEP, Ayurveda Lifestyle Counselor, M.B.A. & ATM Silver. Ms Smola has practiced yoga for over 15 years. She is humbled and honored to be trained by Arpita Shah of Om Yoga Journey. Ms Shah was trained by Dr. Lad, founder of the Ayurvedic Institute; as well as Rod Stryker and Gary Kraftsow, Ms Smola currently teaches throughout the DFW metroplex. She is blessed to be sharing her love of yoga and Ayrveda with her clients.
